EktaCore ("we", "us", "our") operates the EktaCore mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What the App Does
EktaCore analyzes face photographs for signs of AI-generated manipulation. You select or capture a photo containing a human face, the App sends it to our secure server for analysis, and a forensic report is returned to your device. That's it.
The App examines the physical and optical properties of the image to determine whether the face was captured by a real camera or generated by AI. It does not identify who the person is.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Images You Submit
Images are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection to our analysis server located in the European Economic Area (Frankfurt, Germany).
Images are processed entirely in memory. They are never written to disk, never stored in a database, and never retained after the analysis completes.
We do not use your images to train AI models. We do not share your images with third parties.
2.2 Anonymous Feedback
If you choose to tap the "👍" or "👎" feedback button, we record only:
Whether you found the analysis helpful (yes/no).
A one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address (not your actual IP).
This data is fully anonymized. It cannot be traced back to you or to the image you submitted.
Feedback is used solely to measure and improve the accuracy of our detection engine.
2.3 Crash and Performance Data
We may collect anonymous crash reports and performance metrics to improve the App's stability. These contain no personally identifiable information.
2.4 What We Do NOT Collect
❌ No names, email addresses, or account registrations.
❌ No precise location data.
❌ No contacts, call logs, or SMS.
❌ No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking.
❌ No facial recognition. Although EktaCore requires a face to be present in the photo, it does not identify, recognize, or match faces. It analyzes the physical properties of the image (lighting, noise, reflections) to detect AI generation artifacts — not to determine who the person is. No biometric templates, facial embeddings, or faceprints are ever created or stored.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process data under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — Legitimate Interest: providing the forensic analysis service you explicitly requested. For optional feedback, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) — Consent, given by your voluntary tap of the feedback button.

5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Our analysis server runs on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure in the EEA, governed by Google's Data Processing Terms.
6. Data Security
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
API access is restricted to authenticated clients via API key verification.
Server access is limited to authorized personnel only.
We follow the principle of data minimization: we collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the service.
7. Your Rights (EEA Residents)
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
Access — Request what data we hold about you (in practice: none, since we don't store identifiable data).
Erasure — Request deletion of your data.
Objection — Object to data processing.
Complaint — Lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.

8. Children's Privacy
EktaCore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
